As a Division of FMC Ice Sports, Bay State Hockey is committed to providing year-round opportunities for hockey players of all ages and abilities at public skating rinks across Massachusetts. The Total Skills & Powerskating program's goal is to improve the skating skills of each player, while helping each participant further develop their puck control skills. We focus on evaluating, and then moving to improve the skills of each student. More info

et Out And Learn!

FREE skating and hockey instructional sessions. G.O.A.L! encourages kids ages 4 - 7, new to the sport of hockey, to try a free skating and hockey course, in a game based, fun environment. Blades and the Bruins youth hockey development team will be on-hand to assist new skaters. Skates, helmets and even hockey gear will be provided so kids can fully experience the sport of hockey free of charge.

Level 1 Learn to Hockey Skate
 

This program is designed to to take a skater through their very first on-ice experience to a point where they can begin learning fundamental hockey-specific skills. While players are on the ice with full equipment, the focus will be primarily on skating skill development.

Level 2 Skills and Drills
 

Skaters will begin learning key hockey specific skills that are needed before game play is introduced. After basic skating skills are learned, pucks are the next element and prevalent in this section of the program.

Level 3 Beginner Games
  Once a skater has learned to skate and has developed the basic skills needed to participate in the sport of hockey, it is time to introduce them to the game. This class is geared towards teaching the basic knowledge needed to enter into a competitive hockey program, whether it is a recreational league or travel hockey program.
